Fellow Vietnamese People inland and abroad
Having been mentally terrorized by the Vietnamese Communist Party, I have resisted fiercely and criticized Party leaders in my own defense. In return, the Vietnamese Communist Party and the Government are implementing a campaign to attack me on media aiming at:
― Creating a bad image and humiliating me
― Arousing doubt and dissension between my democracy colleages and me to isolate me from those who are fighting for democracy in Viet Nam.
― Generating public waves against me; forcing confession from several arrested democracy activists to create false evidence in order to put me in jail.
Several articles published on the media of the Vietnamese Communist Party printed fabricated lies with the intentions mentioned above.
In the past ten years, in contributing to the nonviolent movement advocacy for democracy, freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, I have expressed my personal political point of views with petitions for better change to the Vietnamese Communist Party. Thousand of pages of my political analysis have been supported and highly valued by the domestic and abroad Vietnamese People. However, the Vietnamese government not only refuses to acknowledge it, but also responds with severe vengeance. They have assaulted me with following actions:
― Searched my house five times, confiscating my documents, computer, photocopy machine…
― Stopped and arrested me on the street then put me detainment and interrogation six times.
― Put me ịn Jail for long duration without trial, unabling to make conviction after long duration of detainment, however, not any of attempt to appology or compensate for the losses and damages of reputation, personal possessions and mental health ever made.
― Organised local public denouncement to humiliate me ìn front of my local village people.
― Organised gangsters disguised as disabled veterans gathering at my house, assaulting and defaming me.
― Set-up traffic accident with gangster picking quarrent.
― Organized media campaign to humiliate me on the media of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
― Threaten me with anonymous black mail.
― Harassment with prank phone calls at nights
― Cut off phone service many times.
― After 1996, some invitations attending international workshop or conference on geophysics have sent to me but the authority hampered me to participate.
I live with honesty and discipline, and work diligently as a scientist. I was invited to join many international scientific organizations and participated in international conferences. My contributions to the country were highly valued, I was recommended as candidate for the medal for hero of labor..
Despites the on going watch and investigate but this regime can not find any wrong doing by my part, but they will not give up the persecution. Now, I am a 72 years old man yet they are continuing to oppress and violate my dignity with unjust.. On the house search on November 26, 2008, and the prolonged interrogation followed that had made I feel as if I was a worm being brutally stepped upon and at the verge of being murdered. Facing such circumstance, I urgently call for to your actions:
― Let me meet you at my resident or in prison (if I would put in jail) to allow me to explain the truth.
― Demand that my trial, if will be one, would be a public trial so that all those who have concern could participate.
― Advocate for the representation and defense of attorney from abroad. This is my official invitation to the attorneys with compassion.
― Support and introduce my online library: www.nguyenthanhgian g.com to understaningd philosophy, and therefore see the brutality and savageness of the Vietnamese Communist Party.
Your concern on my case would, hopefully, is the opportunity for you to share the burden of my country, my people on the struggle for democracy and human rights.
